Yesterday’s Goals:

  1. Finalize and customize the new theme of this blog - DONE!
  2. Find the missing wires and fittings of the broken DSL modem that has to be returned to Qwest, so I can give the box to the UPS guy - DONE!
  3. Sort through my (too many) websites and domains, prioritize, and decide which ones to sell-off to reduce my online clutter, so to speak - partly DONE

I’m very happy, I achieved 2 out of 3 goals completely, and one partly. So, I’ll carry over #3 as one of today’s goals.

I think the system of self-reward is important in dealing with P (that’s short for Procrastination) and others seem to have achieved lots of success with it. So I rewarded myself for my (partial) success with a meal at Subway. Yum!

I’ve also been looking at how technology can help one overcome P and these two solutions seem intriguing:

  • MeeTimer, a free Firefox extension that keeps track of your online time, what websites used, etc. I have installed it and am still trying to get to grips with its workings. I will be reporting back on this one.
  • The MotivAider, an electronic device - a bit like a pager - that apparently prompts you to remember through vibrations. I’ll be looking into this and will let you know what I think. I might even buy one and give it a try.

Well, that’s all for today folks. I’m setting the following three simple goals for today:

  1. Clean the fish bowl;
  2. Get started with the new procrastination forum I’m starting;
  3. Brought forward from yesterday: Sort through my (too many) websites and domains, prioritize, and sell-off many to reduce my online clutter.

I also have some longer term things I want to achieve:

  1. Read a book a week - jeez, I bought The 4-Hour Workweek: Escape 9-5, Live Anywhere, and Join the New Rich probably a month ago (it is supposed to have good tips how to simplify and manage your life) and have not even touched it yet!
  2. Make more regular posts on this, and my other blog.
